I spent the weekend demonstrating at the wonderful ‘1000 Years of Traditional Crafts’ event, held in the grounds of Lincoln Castle. This is a gathering of craftspeople of all sorts – silversmiths, medieval dyers and tile makers, chair makers, weavers, stonemasons and stained glass artists, to name but a few!

I was working on some medieval manuscript illumination and didn’t have any time to walk round and see the other demonstrators, but here are a few photographs that my husband took over the two days, just to give you a flavour of the event.

It should be even better next year as it’s a big year for Lincoln – the Magna Carta returns to its specially built vault at Lincoln Castle. Definitely one for the diary!
